Cubby
Keep what you copy. Find it when you need it.
For Windows 11 users who rely on copy and paste as part of real work
Cubby keeps the familiar Win+V rhythm while giving clipboard history enough memory to be dependable. Search text and images, recover words from screenshots with Windows OCR, preserve rich formats, pin the things you reuse, and keep the whole history encrypted on your PC.
01 / What it does
Everything useful about Win+V.
None of the short memory.
Search the thought
Type as soon as Cubby opens. Find text, images, and words inside copied screenshots without remembering exactly when you copied them.
History that stays useful
Keep a durable local record, pin commands and details you reuse, filter by type, and clear noise without losing the keepers.
Offline screenshot OCR
Windows OCR reads text inside copied screenshots on the PC. Search that text later or paste the recognized text with Shift+Enter.
Rich formats preserved
Text, HTML, RTF, images, screenshots, and file lists are kept as real clipboard formats rather than flattened into plain text.
Remote sessions are first-class
Cubby includes workflows for RDP and remote-support tools, including large clipboard payloads and configurations where clipboard forwarding needs extra care.
Sensitive by default
Stored payloads are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and a Windows-protected user key. Ignored-app and sensitive-content controls keep private material out of history.
02 / How it works
The same muscle memory.
A better result.
- 01
Install Cubby
Choose the x64 or ARM64 Windows 11 installer and complete the short setup without creating an account.
- 02
Press Win+V
Open the keyboard-first flyout, search immediately, move with the arrow keys, and press Enter to paste the selected clip.
- 03
Keep the useful parts
Pin recurring clips, paste normally or as plain text, filter your history, and configure retention and sensitive-app exclusions.
03 / Product views
Built to be used.
Not just demonstrated.
04 / Under the hood
Private history.
Native behavior.
Encrypted local storage
Clipboard payloads and image data are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, using a key protected for the current Windows user.
Keyboard-first Windows flow
Win+V, search, arrows, Enter, Shift+Enter, pinning, and deletion are designed to feel like a focused Windows surface rather than a general database app.
Signed release path
Cubby ships signed x64 and ARM64 installers through GitHub Releases and checks for signed updates while it runs.
05 / Pricing
Clear terms.
No fog.
Free and open source under GPL-3.0. No account, cloud subscription, ads, or desktop analytics.
Keep what you copy. Find it when you need it.
